Port Authority Agrees to Purchase Stewart Airport
There was no discussion or dissent as the board running the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey voted to purchase the remaining 93 years of the operating lease for Stewart Airport. The National Express Group paid 35 million for the lease, and is selling it for 78.5 million.

Stewart Airport to Welcome Jetblue
As the Times Herald Record reports, at 7:30 Tuesday morning, the first Jetblue flight will depart Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, NY. The first inbound flight, at 1:45PM, there will be speeches, coffee, and a ribbon cutting…even a traditional water cannon salute.

Airtran announces service to Stewart Airport in Newburgh, NY
This morning, Senator Charles Schumer(D-NY), announced that discount airline Airtran would be offering service from the Newburgh airport, 55 miles from downtown Manhattan, effective January 11. “The tides are changing,” Schumer commented. “You might even say a new moon is rising.
