Service Roundup - Tis the Season for New Service
Horizon Air announced new nonstop service from Los Angeles to Loreto, Mexico. The flights will be operated by a CRJ-700 and begin January 19th. The flights will supplement Alaska’s existing service on the route.
United Airlines inaugurated Los Angeles-Frankfurt on Saturday.

Grab Bag: Service to Sunshine and the Snowy North
Alaska Airlines opened a new reservations call center in Phoenix, replacing a facility in Tempe operated since 1989. It specializes in serving elite frequent fliers and Spanish-speaking customers. We are currently unaware where the facility for most customers is located.
American Airlines will offer new service to Buenos Aires, Argentina from Chicago-O’Hare effective December 13th.

Service Roundup
Air France will open daily service from Seattle to Paris on June 11th. It will be its 13th US city.
Delta will offer service from Boston’s Logan Airport to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island once daily from June 29th through September 16th. The service will be operated by Comair.

Airlines Eye International Expansion
Today, Northwest and Delta both announced expansion plans. As the Associated Press notes in regards to Northwest, airline consultant Alan Sbarra said that expansion fits with a policy now popular amoung US carriers of “avoiding competition by going to Europe.”
