Strikewatch ’06 Part 2

By | August 25, 2006

As we reported earlier, the Federal Judge deciding on the case of the Northwest Airlines Flight Attendants and their right to strike blocked them from going on strike today. He has issued an injunction, stating that a delay was necessary so that the legal issues under the Federal Railway Act could be explored further.

We agree with the idea that delay their ability to strike hurts the flight attendants, and that Northwest and the travelling public would be more damaged by the loss of Northwest, which has said a strike could kill it.

In a move of solidarity, the unions at American Airlines issued a press release showing support for the flight attendants and urging Northwest to resolve the issue.
